Dear listeners, welcome to talk ten of our series of twelve. We noted the importance of prophecy in the last talk in terms of its place in the Old Testament and even of the Bible as a whole. Today we look at the five books of the major prophets. These are Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel and Daniel, the twenty third to the twenty seventh books of the Old Testament. The distinction between the major and the minor prophets is not about the importance of the message. Every prophecy from God is important.

Welcome to talk nine of our series of twelve. Today we are looking into the matter of prophecy in the Old Testament. The Old Testament category of prophecy follows after the wisdom books. It consists of seventeen books, the twenty third to the thirty ninth. It is divided into the major prophets, which consists of five books from the twenty third to the twenty seventh, and the minor prophets which consists of twelve books from the twenty eight to the thirty ninth. The five books of the major prophets are Isaiah, Jeremiah, Lamentations, Ezekiel and Daniel.

The books are namely in sequence Job, Psalms, Proverbs, Ecclesiastes and the Song of Solomon. These books collect together the insights of the wise among God's people who receive guidance and wisdom from the Spirit of God.

Greetings to all our listeners. Blessings in Christ. Today is our fourth talk in this series of twelve. This is also the second session on our coverage of the law in the Old Testament. In our last talk, we introduced the category of law and highlighted the major themes it covered, including God, creation, humankind, sin, salvation, Abraham, Israel and God's national covenant with Israel. We shall now outline the content of each of the books of the law. And these are Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy. We shall go book by book.

How can we join the church and be part of it? I have shared about the need to repent, believe and be born again. These three points are intertwined. We must be determined to act on them.
