Hi everyone, I am Angelie and welcome to this week’s episode of ‘Workplace Strategy’. I hope that through this series we can learn from one another and progress together in our spiritual life and work life. Regardless of whether we are novices or Senior Managers, professionals, or entrepreneurs, we face challenges and bottlenecks in different phases of our careers. At this juncture, we come to seek God in prayer as Christians. Then, we may discuss with our family and friends or approach our mentors. Today, I would like to introduce another new method to all of you. That is, coaching. Professional coaching can bring about transformation from inside out. One professional coach, Josh, is sitting beside me now. Josh, welcome to the show!

Josh: Hi, Angelie and everyone!

Angelie: Well, truthfully speaking, I have limited understanding of the ‘coaching’ profession. I believe that most of the audience here are like me. When it comes to coaching, we immediately think of the sports coaches but not in relation to the workplace. May I invite you to share with us what ‘coaching’ is about, Josh?

Josh: The International Coach League defines the coach and the coachee relationship as a partnership. Through the inspiring dialogue of both parties, it unleashes the talents and professional potential of individuals to the maximum. The objective of coaching is to enable the coachee to focus on the future, set goals, and progress towards these goals. In the process of dialogues, the coach does not give suggestions and answers. Instead, he helps the coachee to reflect, based on active listening and an inquiring approach. Thereby, the coachee can find solutions and act on them to achieve their goals.
