Angelie: Hi everyone, I am Angelie and welcome to today’s episode of ‘Workplace Strategy’. Today, we have invited our guest speaker, Dr. Michelle, to answer a question that was posed by a listeners in this section called ‘Workplace Strategy Forum’. Welcome again, Dr. Michelle!

Michelle: Thanks Angelie. It’s truly my honour again.

Angelie: Dr. Michelle, a concern recently posed is that of a Sister-in-Christ who finds herself so engrossed in the Word of God daily that she often neglects her work. What should she do? How do we extricate ourselves from such a situation? What are the Bible verses that speak to us about it? It is written in Ecclesiastes 9:10 in the Bible: Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with your might, for there is no work or thought or knowledge or wisdom in death, to which you are going. Is there a Bible passage more effective than this? Dr. Michelle, do you have any suggestions?

Michelle: This is an interesting question! Well, I think this friend has an intimate relationship with God. She enjoys the communion with the Holy Spirit in her inner chamber, reading the Word of God, and praying in her quiet time so much that she does not wish to work.

Angelie: It is commendable that we have a close relationship with God, but it seems that there is a loss of balance if we reach such an extent.

Michelle: True. Christians need to enter the inner chamber to meet the Lord so that we are filled to the brim with joy and anointing as we go forth to experience our communal lives. Just as Moses, when he worshipped the Lord and received His Word at the mountain top, his face shone. He was also empowered to face the challenges after his descent from the mountain (Exodus 34:29). The healthier our lives in the inner chamber, the more we are empowered in living outwardly.
