"His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. Through these he has given us his very great and precious promises, so that through them you may participate in the divine nature, having escaped the corruption in the world caused by evil desires" (2Pe 1: 3-4)

The tenth biblical way to overcome procrastination is claim God’s promises over our situation. Challenges in our lives are like mountains that we need to conquer one after another. Mountains in the bible also symbolize promises of God for us to claim one by one as we journey through life.

Sometimes when we are overwhelmed by the mountain before us and began to procrastinate over the challenges we faced. We should speak to the mountain by faith and claiming God’s promises. Jesus said in Mark 11:23, “Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him.” Faith believes what God’s Words says about our situation; stand on His promises and refuse to stand on the premises of doubt.

It is true that time and chance influence all things and they come to pass in unseen ways, and by unknown means. But with respect to God there is no random events and nothing can happen either outside His knowledge or intention, for it is His decree that gives being to all events. Praise God that all His promises will come to pass for His Word shall not return unto Him void. (Isa 55:11) We can be very comforted by His thoughts for us, plans for welfare not for calamity to give us a hope and a future. (Jer 29:11)

God is faithful to all His promises and He is good all the time.“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (Jas 1:17)

Let’s pray.

Lord, thank you for your goodness, your love endures forever. Help me to stand on your promises in all situations. In Jesus precious name I pray. Amen.

Before we go, take a look at the questionnaire below:

1. Are there any daunting "mountains" in your current work life? How do you plan to face them?

2. How do you understand the faith that Jesus mentioned in Mark 11:23 about "saying to this mountain"? Can you share a specific example of how faith helped you achieve something that seemed impossible?

3. The Bible tells us that God's thoughts are "plans to prosper you and not to harm you." How does this belief affect your mindset and decisions when facing adversities and challenges in life? Please share a relevant personal experience.
