"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me" – Gal 2:20
The ninth biblical way to overcome procrastination is to let our Lord Jesus has the total control over our lives. People feel insecure when they loss control over the situation and insecurity will leads to loss in integrity when they resolve to force their own way through the situation. Trust and obey for there is no other way to be happy in Jesus, but to totally surrender ourselves to Him when the situation is totally out of our control.
“Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.” (Jas 1:4) Our impatience is an interruption of God’s work in us. One thing we can be very certain God will not leave us in the fire longer than is required to complete the process of our character refinement. “And He shall sit as a refiner and purifier of silver…purge them as gold and silver” (Mal 3:3) He sat and fixed His eyes on the metal being refined so that as soon as the metal reflects His image, He will immediately withdraw the metal from the fire. God’s primary aim to let us go through the process until the Christ is formed in us. (Gal 4:19) To make Jesus Lord of our lives is to let Him have total control over this whole refinement process in our lives like that piece of metal.
Waiting upon the Lord is not procrastinating over our situation, but allow time for God to work through the situation. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will make your paths straight.” (Pr 3:5-6) Acknowledge Him is to make Him Lord over all our ways.
Let’s pray.
Lord, help me to wait upon you and soar like an eagle over all my situations to give you all the glory and praise. In Jesus name, amen.
