Speaker: Dr. Michelle Liew | Video Editor: Goh Soo Mun

How is a salaried man to bless a corporation to grow and raise his personal worth? And, how can a business operator keep his business to stay firm as a rock amidst the winds and waves as he contributes to society and seeks the welfare of his staff?

Welcome to our programme series “Musings of the Workplace” and hear Dr Liew share how to handle difficult situations at workplace.

Dr Liew had been working in a number of steelmaking, synthetic fibre and resin MNCs as the Asia Pacific Senior Regional Environment Manager. With a strong portfolio of workplace experiences under her belt, Dr Liew had been helping corporations under her charge to boost their management efficiencies and effectiveness as well as team-building efforts, as she put her personal expertise and values in management philosophy to good use. Each time the topic on her working career crops up, words on how much she loves her job would be rolling off her tongue!!

We know that many people feeling jaded at their respective workplaces have set “early retirement” as the ultimate goal of their careers. Not Dr Liew.

How did Dr Liew keep the flames burning so bright within all these years?  Where does her secret lie? Let us welcome Dr Liew to let us in on this subject!

As the programme draws to a close, let us think about the questions below:

1.   How would you rate your current work on a scale of one to ten -- with one as extremely unhappy and 10, extremely happy?

2.   Are you satisfied with the above rating? What are your reasons for the low rating?

3.   What are your work values? Are they in sync with the values of the company where you are working? Is there any need to make adjustments?
