"Do not throw away your confidence; it will be richly rewarded. You need to persevere so that when you have done the will of God, you will receive what he has promised" – Heb 10:35-36
The sixth biblical way to overcome procrastination is to persevere persistently when we are behind schedule due to unforeseen circumstances. There is a tendency for the team to feel guilty when deadline is not met due to unexpected incidents. It is very important for the team not to allow such guilt becomes a discouragement to the team and results in procrastination. Instead, the team should persevere until the task is completed. “But the person who endures to the end will be saved.” (Matt 24:13)
If we are to reign with Jesus, we must endure with Him. (2Ti 2:12) And perseverance cannot be given to us like a gift but it is a by-product of sufferings (Ro 5:3). It is the fruit of the Spirit manifested in our lives when we are patient, kind and good to others around us. (Gal 5:22) God is good and faithful all the time. We are kept by His power to do His will to receive what He has promised that is the redemption of our body. (1Pe 1:5) “For no matter how many promises God has made, they are “Yes” in Christ. And so through him the “Amen” is spoken by us to the glory of God.” (2Co 1:20)
Rather than let any set back in our endeavor becomes a discouragement and procrastination, let it turns into a stepping stone for our promotion to a new season of blessing. “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.” (Gal 6: 9-10)
Let’s pray.
Lord, thank you for your unfailing love and promises in Christ. Please help me to run with perseverance for the race mark out for me. In the glorious name of Jesus I pray, amen.
