Hello friends! Thank you for tuning in to Workplace Strategy!
What is “financial freedom” to you? Having enough money to last a lifetime? Or having a large sum of money to do whatever you like? Here’s a simple definition – financial freedom is to be free from the bondage of money. It is not indulging in money, but neither is there any shortage of daily needs.
1 Timothy 6:10 says, ”for the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” The verse clearly says that the craving for money, will cause one to stray away from the truth, and cause a lot of pain. It is good to remember that money itself is not a root of evil but that the love of money is its root.
I’m sure you know people who invest time and effort in pursuing money. But regardless of how much is in the bank, the person is not satisfied. He wants more, even if he has millions or billions of dollars stashed away. Such a person is far from “financial freedom”. In fact, he or she is enslaved by money.
